Dr. Whitney Pope is a Professor of Neuroradiology and Director of Brain Tumor Imaging at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
He received his Ph.D. from Northwestern University and his MD from the University of Illinois at Chicago before radiology residency and neuroradiology fellowship at UCLA.
Dr. Pope has over 120 publications focusing on genomic and physiologic imaging markers of treatment susceptibility and response in glioblastoma, including the first report of non-invasive detection of 2-HG in human glioma patients using MR spectroscopy. He has extensive experience in image acquisition interpretation and data analysis for both glioma patients and small animal glioma models.
Dr. Pope is a Board of Directors member for the Society for Neuro-Oncology, and is an associate editor of the journal NeuroD/-Oncology. He also co-chairs the American Society of Neuroradiology’s Genomics Imaging Group.
