Eye cancer services at UCLA are offered through the Jules Stein Eye Institute. Clinical activities of the Institute are administered jointly by the UCLA Health Systems Department of Ophthalmology and the UCLA Medical Center.
Clinical care services are provided through two adjacent locations: The Jules Stein Eye Institute and the Doris Stein Eye Research Center. The Institute records more than 80,000 patient visits each year from patients with all categories of eye disorders and visual system diseases. Nationally and internationally renowned faculty representing every ophthalmic specialty are available for consultation, specialized testing and treatment, including tertiary care.

Our partnership with health professionals in the community is key to our success at UCLA Health System. It is our goal to assist you with referring a patient to UCLA and getting access to our continuing medical education program.
Registered nurses and referral coordinators are available to assist referring physicians and case managers access services at UCLA Health System through the toll-free UCLA Physician Referral Service phone line (1-800-UCLA-MD1). The Ophthalmology Referral Service (ORS) is a valuable resource for healthcare professionals who want to refer patients and obtain information about the clinical activities at the Jules Stein Eye Institute. Experienced staff are available to answer questions and identify the specific resource needed. ORS has a dedicated telephone line for referring physicians to facilitate prompt access to services.
