UCLA-LIVESTRONG™ Survivorship Center of Excellence

One in three individuals will develop cancer in their lifetime, and nearly 14 million Americans are currently living beyond their cancer diagnosis and treatment. Most of them enjoy a disease-free survival.

However, as a result of treatment, some people experience side effects that impair physical and emotional recovery. Common concerns include:

  • How to prevent a cancer recurrence
  • How to prevent the development of a new cancer
  • How to minimize any late effects from treatments

Our goals

The UCLA-LIVESTRONG™ Survivorship Center of Excellence’s mission is to:

  • Provide high quality clinical care for post-treatment cancer patients
  • Provide information on improving survivorship quality-of-life
  • Pursue cutting-edge survivorship research
  • Educate the community on survivorship care and concerns

With funding from the LIVESTRONG Foundation and other philanthropic supporters, the enter has become the focal point of survivorship activities at the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center and UCLA Health. The center is developing models of healthcare delivery to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of cancer survivors.

The center's clinical programs, research studies and community partners include:
