Bone, joint and muscle cancer care at UCLA
Care at UCLA for bone, joint and muscle cancer patients is provided through UCLA Health's UCLA Orthopaedic Oncology Program.
The program is part of the UCLA Musculoskeletal Oncology Service. Established in 1980, this service manages all bone and soft-tissue tumors, benign and malignant, primary, recurrent and metastatic as well as tumor-like conditions of bone. UCLA has been a pioneer in the development of limb-sparing surgical strategies for both malignant bone and soft-tissue sarcomas.
Chordoma is a rare, cancerous tumor that develops in the spine and skull base. UCLA provides care for the disease through the UCLA Chordoma Center.

Clinical trials for bone, joint and muscle cancer
Clinical trials are a vital step in discovering new treatments for cancer. UCLA doctors conduct clinical research to find new therapies for bone, joint and muscle tumors, and geneticists also work with precision medicine, which uses your DNA to help pinpoint the best treatment for you. By participating in a clinical trial, you will have access to the most innovative care.
