Continuing its Important Work
The Noreen Fraser Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to funding groundbreaking women’s cancer research and raising awareness of the importance of early detection, was an ardent supporter of UCLA’s Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center since its inception. The organization’s founder and namesake, Noreen Fraser, was a Stage IV breast cancer patient who was treated at the JCCC from her first diagnosis in 2001 until her death in March 2017. Noreen turned her personal experience into a crusade to help others by creating the Noreen Fraser Foundation and co-creating Stand Up To Cancer and co-producing its first “roadblock” televised fundraising special. While the Noreen Fraser Foundation has concluded operations, its determination to eradicate cancer remains and they invite you to join them in supporting the Noreen Fraser Fund under the direction of Dr. Dennis Slamon and Dr. John Glaspy.
"We established the Noreen Fraser Fund at the JCCC with the money we raised through the help of our corporate sponsors, board of directors and our supporters. We wanted to ensure that it was put to use in a way that will advance new treatment options as rapidly as possible. The JCCC has always been at the forefront in the fight against women’s cancers, so it was a natural that we chose this institution to support. In addition to providing resources that may be accessed immediately, the Fund creates an opportunity for our followers to continue to support the fight in a meaningful way--and we hope they will." --Noreen Fraser
