Chords2Cure is a non-profit organization benefiting pediatric cancer research. C2C was conceived in 2015 when a few compassionate middle schoolers aspired to support classmates, Jaxon Blumenthal and Mafalda von Alvensleben who had both been diagnosed with rare forms of pediatric cancers.

  • Co-Founder, Juliette Pegula was incensed to discover pediatric cancers only receive 4% of the allocated government funding for cancer research. She also learned, Jax and Mafalda had both received chemotherapy treatments that were over 30 years old. There are NO new treatments on the market for rare sarcoma cancers such as Ewing’s Sarcoma and Hepatoblastoma.
  • With this knowledge in hand and a burning desire to help her classmates, Juliette gathered a few friends (and parents) and brainstormed ways to raise more money for funding. The one thing Juliette, Jax and Mafalda all have in common is their love for music and their desire to perform. So, it was a no brainer when the idea for a benefit concert was hatched. The first ever Chords2Cure concert featured a bevy of talented Xrds student who surprised the audience when they brought Foo Fighter’s guitarist, Chris Shiflett on stage to jam with them. The event raised $22,000.
  • The concert garnered tons of accolades and requests for a yearly benefit show. So, back by popular demand, the 2nd annual Chords2Cure concert was even a bigger smash hit when the kids once again surprised the audience with none other than, Chris Martin from Coldplay. Chris jammed with the kids on three songs and the event brought in $34,000. For the 3rd annual C2C event, band members from One Republic joined kids on stage and the event went on to raise over $80,000. The success of the event continues to grow, as it raised $162,000 for its fourth annual C2C event.
