SENIOR GRANTS ADMINISTRATOR (HYBRID/REMOTE)

Reporting to the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center’s Manager of Research Administration, Operations and Strategy (Manager), you will provide senior level support for all aspects of proposal development and administration for the National Cancer Institute (NCI) Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG). In this role you will provide robust and comprehensive grants facilitation services to Cancer Center investigators, including support for all aspects of development of largescale, multi-disciplinary or similar type grant applications (i.e. P01s, SPOREs, T32s and others) as well as all administrative supplements to the CCSG. You will work closely with the Cancer Center Informatics Unit and other stakeholders to develop and analyze critical data reports, including metrics that must be regularly submitted to the NCI and those used by senior leadership to guide decision making. You will also use your strong knowledge of pre and post-award research administration policies and procedures, a strong knowledge of the CCSG guidelines and expectations of an NCI designated comprehensive cancer center, strong analytical thinking skills, an eye for detail, and the ability to handle a large volume of complex work while maintaining a calm and customer-focused perspective.

MEDIA RELATIONS MANAGER (HYBRID/REMOTE)

As Media Relations Manager (MRM) you will provide media outreach and place stories for UCLA’s oncology-focused research and clinical care for the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center and partners such as UCLA Health, Broad Stem Cell Research Center at UCLA (BSCRC), Jonsson Cancer Center Foundation (JCCF) and David Geffen School of Medicine (DGSOM) at UCLA. The stories will be placed with local, regional, national and international news media and other key audiences, using traditional and social media channels. In this role you will develop and execute strategic media relations plans with high impact of key audiences. Responsibilities include developing story ideas and working with news media to place those stories in an increasingly competitive news environment; building relationships with faculty, UCLA oncologists and media representatives; writing clinical care and research articles, press releases and research alerts; and translating complex scientific topics that reporters and members of the general public can understand in a compelling manner, while highlighting UCLA Health’s highly-rated clinical care offerings with its physicians and through its hospitals, clinics and clinical trials.

SHARED RESOURCES MANAGEMENT COORDINATOR

In this role, you will be responsible for working with the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center Associate Director for Shared Resources, the JCCC Chief Administrative Officer, and the Shared Resource Directors to ensure the Cancer Center meets and exceeds the NCI Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG) guidelines for shared resources management. Responsibilities include but are not limited to advertising shared resources broadly to the UCLA cancer research community; collecting and analyzing various shared resource data sets; contributing to and supporting the drafting of shared resource management and individual shared resources’ CCSG write-ups and presentations; coordinating and documenting shared resource user advisory group meetings and recommendations; developing and implementing various user satisfaction and needs surveys, analyzing results, communicating them clearly to stakeholders, making recommendations to address weaknesses and further improve services; drafting and maintaining UCLA JCCC shared resources’ policies and guidelines; maintaining thorough understanding of the CCSG guidelines and developing and implementing strategies to meet them; managing the Center’s shared resources funding support mechanism; supporting S10 and other shared equipment grant applications; planning and coordination of training sessions, promotional events and other shared resource related activities; and supporting the acquisition of PMCIDs for publication that utilized shared resources; organizing and documenting regular shared resource leadership meetings.

SENIOR MANAGER OF CANCER PROGRAM MARKETING

As Senior Manager of Cancer Program Marketing, you will be the front facing contact and relationship builder for key stakeholders, specifically the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center, and provide critical and informative input and execution for cancer marketing strategies and plans for UCLA Health that include all cancer-focused Hospitals, Service Lines, Ambulatory, Programs, Products, Research, and special projects. You will help develop and implement new and innovative programs, techniques and marketing opportunities to the forefront to benefit UCLA Health’s cancer program and the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center, and continue to position the organization as a leading academic medical system for cancer care, research, education and community outreach, locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. This position will also be responsible for establishing and managing successful creative and collaborative relationships with key UCLA partners including the Jonsson Cancer Center Foundation, the David Geffen School of Medicine, the Broad Stem Cell Research Center, and other key teams.
