Dr. Tan's research goal is to understand how genes are regulated by combining genetic, biochemical and structural descriptions. He is particularly interested in how chromatin enzymes recognize and interact with the nucleosome. His lab is also currently investigating novel methods and tools for reconstituting recombinant multicomponent complexes and will continue to research to improve those methods.
