Sherie Morrison, Ph.D.
Professor, Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics
Dr. Sherie Morrison's laboratory has pioneered the development of genetically engineered antibodies for many applications. Presently, the laboratory is investigating the role of antibodies in treating fungal and viral infections. The lab's researchers are developing antibodies to provide protection against botulinum toxin, a deadly toxin that is the cause of botulism and a potential weapon of terrorists. Antibody fusion proteins also are being developed for the treatment of malignancy.
