Trever G. Bivona, MD, PhD
Professor, Hematology and Oncology
Dr. Trever Bivona leads a basic and translational research laboratory focused on cancer genetics, precision medicine, and the molecular basis of targeted therapy response and resistance. His team has discovered several mechanisms of resistance to EGFR-targeted therapy, BRAF- and MEK-targeted therapy, and ALK-targeted therapy in lung and other cancers. He also directs a multi-disciplinary team engaged in laboratory-based patient-focused research, and is an investigator on clinical trials, including rational upfront polytherapy trials designed to forestall and eliminate resistance and that are motivated by my laboratory-based discoveries.
