Dr. Guido Eibl has been interested in pancreatic research since 1996. For more than 15 years now, his main research interest continues to be the study of pancreatic cancer, in particular the role of inflammation in cancer development and progression. He initially studied the role of eicosanoids and cyclooxygenases as targets for pancreatic cancer therapy and from these studies Eibl became interested in the anti-inflammatory role of fish oil and omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids for pancreatic cancer prevention and therapy. He is also involved in projects studying the efficacy of natural compounds for pancreatic cancer prevention and therapy.
