Cardiac Health After Cancer
Megha Agarwal, M.D., UCLA Clinical Instructor, cardiologist, and researcher discusses the importance of heart health after a cancer diagnosis. There is an increased risk of cardiovascular illness and potential long-term complications later in life related to some cancer treatments (some chemotherapies, radiation, and other treatments) that require ongoing screening as well as appropriate diagnosis and management. The critical importance of heart health and maintaining a healthy lifestyle and diet for cancer survivors is also discussed.
