The Personalized Treatment of Breast Cancer
Merry L. Tetef, M.D., UCLA Associate Clinical Professor and
breast cancer medical oncologist discusses the risk factors and
prevention of breast cancer, recent advances in treatment, and
how breast cancer care can be personalized. The best management
of breast cancer is to tailor the type and extent of
treatment based on the specific features of the cancer and the
individual. The current state of breast cancer treatment options,
the science behind more individualized therapy, the future of
clinical research and new drug development in the field of breast
cancer are all discussed.
