Print

At UCLA, patients with eye cancer are treated through the Jules Stein Eye Institute. Clinical activities of the Institute are administered jointly by the UCLA Health Systems Department of Ophthalmology and the UCLA Medical Center.

Clinical care services are provided through two adjacent locations: The Jules Stein Eye Institute and the Doris Stein Eye Research Center. The combined structures provide over 190,000 square feet of functional space to accommodate the Institute's diverse activities and technologically advanced facilities for patient care, research and education.

Nationally and internationally renowned faculty representing every ophthalmic specialty are available for consultation, specialized testing, and treatment, including tertiary care.

Clinical Trials

Clinical trials are carefully controlled research studies in which cancer patients help doctors and scientists find ways to improve health and cancer care, and to make sure the treatments are safe and effective. Each study is designed to address and answer specific scientific questions and to find better ways to prevent, diagnose or treat cancer. A clinical trial is one of the final stages resulting from the research conducted during intensive and lengthy laboratory studies.

If you are interested in finding out more about these studies, visit our Enroll in a Clinical Trial section for general information and a listing of currently open clinical trials.
